Spencer Koelle, Prospect Research & Grantswriting

Spencer loves a good story and knows how to write one. He can detect clues that identify new donors for your cause and aspects of your nonprofit that will cause current donors to give more.

Research & Grants ~ His research typically uncovers 10-40 new, qualified prospects for VMJA clients. His crisp proposals have secured increased funding for several VMJA clients. Spencer Is adept at every phase of the grant solicitation process, from pre-screening to online applications to Letters of Inquiry to developing full proposals for corporate, foundation and government funders.

Experience ~ Prior to joining VMJA he worked for a publishing house and for a municipal library.

Publications ~ In addition to writing elegantly compelling proposals, he is a recognized author of speculative fiction. Spencer’s work has been produced by Cast of Wonders, the UK young adult audio-fiction podcast, and appeared in print publications such as Cover of Darkness and Bards & Sages Quarterly.  He’s written 14 published short stories and three as yet to be published novels.

Academics ~ Spence earned his Bachelor’s in Creative Writing from Susquehanna University (cum laude) with a minor in Women’s Studies.
