Carol Carr, Grantswriting

Carol has has helped clients win $10 million+ in federal grants alone. She expanded the scope of the Economic Opportunities Fund (EOF) to include SBA Lending: EOF was the only microfinance fund in the state to receive a PA Small Business Incentive Grant. She brings her extensive microfinance and community development connections to VMJA clients.

Banking~ Before fundraising, Carol spent 18 years as a successful Commercial Banker. She began her career at Girard/Mellon in the commercial credit-training program, rising to Vice President of Commercial Lending where she managed a portfolio of $65 million in small business loans.

Nonprofits~ Carol’s nonprofit work focusses on community building and leveraging the role of CDFI’s in entrepreneurship and community development. She played a critical role in driving contributed revenue for the Opportunity Finance Network and the Women’s Opportunities Resource Center.

Leadership ~ Carol has served as Finance Chair for the Wallingford-Swarthmore School District, as well as in numerous volunteer positions with church, school, and nonprofit organizations.

Academics ~ Carol graduated from Trinity College, Connecticut with honors.

Ms. Carr has been a Senior Consulting Associate for VMJA for more than a decade.
